God often adds new members to different denominations at different times. Even in the corporate world, orientation and training are conducted once a new person is employed.
This is to help the new employer know more about the organization and the job that is appointed to perform.
This is no different from the church; once a person joins a church, a church membership class should be conducted for such a person. This class is essential to every new member.
Most churches don’t have this class, which differs from the Foundation School or New Convert classes. Most often, churches attach this all-important class to the Foundation School or New Convert class.
All new ministry members must undergo the foundation school or new convert class and church membership class. If the new member is from a different branch of the same ministry, the person should have undergone such a class and can be exempted from doing it again.
This is a class or school where the fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith is taught; let’s look at a scripture in Isaiah 28:9.
To whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? They are weaned from milk and drawn from the breast.
There are different dosages of the word, and the milk of the word is one critical dosage essential for Christian growth and maturity.
1 Peter 2:2 says that newborn babies desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby. The milk of the word constitutes the fundamental doctrine of the Christian faith.
As explicitly stated in Isaiah 28:9, it is a requirement for God to teach knowledge and understand doctrine [teachings]. No matter how long you’ve been in the church, once you’re not up-to-date with the milk of the word, you’re not qualified to understand doctrine and be taught knowledge.
And knowledge is a requirement for us not to perish…
